BridgePeace.org & PlasmaChannel.com – On February 23, 2009 – Jon Bon Jovi and his Backstage with JBJ fan club sponsored a Bridges of Peace – “Help a Child through a Soldier” Drive at his private fanclub concert which was held at the Starland Ballroom in Sayreville, NJ. Thanks to the generous support of Jon Bon Jovi, Matt Bongiovi and the fan club, the drive was a huge success. In an effort to encourage the fans to donate an item, Jon Bon Jovi donated a personal item of his to be raffled off to the winner. Our winner Katrina Van Horn won a black Dolce and Gabanna V neck shirt owned, worn and signed by Jon Bon Jovi. Bridges of Peace received many thousands of items from the fans which filled an entire U-Haul truck from soccer balls, toys, sports equipment, art & school supplies and more. The Jon Bon Jovi Drive had Bridges of Peace volunteers packing for several days all the wonderful gifts for the children of Iraq. The total ended up being about 60 very large boxes from the very generous fans…sending their Bon Jovi LOVE throughout the world! The boxes were shipped on the next day to US soldiers who are a part of Sgt. Robert Bruce’s Civil Affairs unit who are currently stationed in Iraq. Bruce returned home in mid November after spending one year in Iraq. He is a Sayreville police officer and a Bridges of Peace Board of Director since 2004. Parents and kids the world over begin to get excited as the holiday season comes closer, anticipating the hot toys for 2008. There are a number of the best toys this year that are worth discussing as possible forms of family entertainment. No matter your age or interests, you are sure to find something for everyone on your shopping list. The hot toys for 2008 are a great indication of the popular trends as well as classic kids toys traditions.

One of the newest trends in top toys is electronics. For a few decades now, at least one of the best toys has required batteries or a power supply. Got my Internet back today. Decided to post a video of some pickups….. The bonnet split to form the arms, the head popped out from the spade made, and a little trolley popped out of the underside to stand the figure up. Possibly only two molds (a sports car and a jeep) were produced, though these were recolored in different schemes, including a (presumably licensed) Knight Rider version (Ertl also owned the rights to toys and models of KITT from the dodgy, student-friendly TV series). Originally released in Japan by Fujisho. The same molds became the Bat-Robô in Estrela’s Brazilian Transformers line.

Collecting Sports Equipment As Memorabilia

Many people question individuals who collect sports equipment as memorabilia. They don’t understand why some one would collect sports equipment, and why sports equipment as memorabilia can be worth such a great value on the market. However, these are generally individuals who don’t understand the “how” and “why’s” of collecting sport equipment as memorabilia.

Collecting sports equipment as memorabilia is nothing more or less than collecting fragments of history. In the United States and other countries around the world, sports are a favorite past time. They are a series of events and games that have taken place all throughout history. They at times have brought people and even the world together, as seen in the Olympics. Therefore, they are important pieces of history that should be collected, showcased and remembered for all time.

All collectors of sports equipment generally know this.

This knowledge usually comes about when a collector falls in love with a sport or specific sports team. Followers of sports are usually more fanatic then those who collect celebrity or music memorabilia. They will generally begin collecting everything that has their local sports team on it. Whether it be clothing, water bottles, endorsed sports equipment, or books and magazines written about the sports teams or by members of it.

The love for sports and sports teams usually comes about from the upbringing of the collector. If a collectors family were sports fanatics, then the collector will generally grow up to be a fantastic as well. It is during the youth of these would be collectors that they will generally begin to keep items related to their favorite sports team. This usually begins with the collection of cardboard cards or sports programs claimed at sporting events. In some cases, it will consist of actual sport equipment that the collector has obtained while at a sporting event. An example of this, is a baseball that is hit into the stands and captured by the collector. This item will no doubt be of great importance to the collector as they were the only one out of the thousands in attendance to have captured and claimed that item.

For those collectors not lucky enough to be in the stands and to actually capture the sport equipment with their bare hands, they will go to great lengths in order to obtain historic sport equipment and memorabilia to add to their collections. These types of items can be obtained from sporting memorabilia stores, private owners, or from actual sports teams.

Whatever method you use to obtain your sporting equipment memorabilia, be sure that you protect the collectibles in proper casing in order to keep their value high. You will also want to keep them out of direct sunlight, and avoid drastically changing conditions in the environment in which you store the sports equipment. You should also have all your sports equipment appraised and authenticated with a certificate of authentication when you add it to your collection. These two things will add more value to your collection of sports equipment over the years.
